The Director of Swimming and Head Coach
Brian Metcalfe operates LOSC with coaches and support staff. Brian
is in his 26th year as a NCCP level 4 professionally certified
coach. Brian has coached in BC his whole coaching career starting
as a summer club coach and then pursuing year round coaching. He
has coached swimmers to Provincial records and up to World
Championship Teams for Canada. His number one goal is to produce
swimmers to be the best they can be which hopefully leads some
swimmers to the Olympic Gold Medal and World Records.
All LOSC staff is hired by the Director of Swimming and will be
under the tutelage of the Director of Swimming. We like to have all
our coaches N.C.C.P. certified and have extensive in house
training.

Rhonda Mackay
Assistant Head Coach

Rhonda has had over 20 years of coaching experience, working for
both summer and winter swim teams and aside from a two year hiatus,
has been coaching for LOSC since the team started. Rhonda is
NCCP 2 certified and is currently working towards her Level 3.
Carmen Keller
Assistant Coach

Carmen is the Regional Group Coach. This is
Carmen’s eighth year coaching with Langley Olympians
swim club. She began as a stroke improvement swimmer and continues
to swim with the LOSC masters group.
Carmen has her level 1 NCCP as well as her lifeguarding and swim
instructor courses. She graduated from Trinity Western University
with her bachelors of Arts and Education. She currently also works
as a teacher on call in the Langley and Abbotsford school
districts. She may be visiting your school soon!
Carmen loves teaching and helping her swimmers reach their goals
and full potential.

Adrienne Goodey
WC Blair Coach

Adrienne is
the Head Coach of Abbotsford Olympians but will also be coaching at
WC Blair for the 2010-2011 season.
Adrienne was a swim teacher and coach in England for 10 years
beore moving to B.C 2 years ago and taking up the
position of Head Coach for Abbotsford Olympians.

Alana McGinn
WC Blair Coach

Alana will be coaching Olympic Way at WC Blair this year.
Alana is also coaching in Abbotsford and has swum and coached for
the Langley Olympians in the past.
Alana is currently attending the University of Fraser Valley to
hopefully become an ESL teacher for Elementary students. She is
currently working to become a lifeguard and has gained great
experience teaching through the club and volunteering at different
pools and schools.

Jen Gleed

I am currently coaching Olympic Way at Walnut Grove, as
well as Stroke Improvement. This is my third full year
coaching with the Olympains. I coached in Abbotsford 2 years
ago and coached for a summer swim club two summers ago and
then this summer. I swam in summer swim club 8
years previous to coaching.
I have obtained all my lifeguarding and swim instructor
courses and am working towards my NCCP 1. I am in my third year at
the University of the Fraser Valley in the Bachelor of Arts
Program.
Swimming is my passion, and I just love coaching the
children.
Sydney Hewitson

This will be my second full year coaching and my
sixth year swimming with the Olympians. I have completed all of my
lifeguarding courses and I am in Grade 12 at Langley
Fundamental Middle and Secondary School. I will be coaching Olympic
Way at Walnut Grove this year.
Kelsey Martinez

This will be my second year swimming with the Olympians, and my
first full year coaching for them. I will be coaching the Olympic
Way program at Walnut Grove Pool. I helped out some coaches last
year to gain some expierence. I am in grade 12 at Brookswood
Secondary School.
Cheryl Barnes

Cheryl is currently in grade 12. This is her 8th year swimming
with the Olympians. She is in her third year of coaching as
well.
